Rafael Caro Quintero Extradited to New York

Rafael Caro Quintero, along with other extradited Mexican drug traffickers, arrived in the United States on the night of Thursday, February 27, to face trial before U.S. authorities. Confirmed departure from Mexico, Caro Quintero, nicknamed 'The Narco of narcos,' arrived in New York escorted by FBI agents. At that moment, a photo was taken of him as he descended from the aircraft handcuffed.

The 72-year-old drug trafficker arrived on a Mexican Navy plane wearing beige clothing and a jacket of the same color. The handcuffs he wore not only limited the mobility of his arms but were also connected to his torso by a chain. He is expected to remain in New York for the coming days, in the same detention center where Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada, another important leader of drug trafficking in Mexico, is currently located.

**Quote:** "We are committed to bringing to justice individuals involved in criminal activities, no matter where they hide," stated a representative of U.S. authorities. The extradition of Caro Quintero and other drug traffickers is part of joint efforts between Mexico and the United States to combat organized crime.
